“What you imagine, you create.” You may have heard this quote thrown around here and there. However, you might not be aware of where it stems from. Like attracts like is a principle of the Law of Attraction.
The law of attraction is exactly what it sounds like - it’s a philosophy revolving around the idea that you attract everything based on your mindset. If you have a positive mindset, you’ll attract the positive results you want, but you’ll only invite negative outcomes if you have negative thoughts.
There is not one, but a whopping total of seven laws of attraction you can apply to yourself and your life! In this guide, I’ll walk you through the main concepts behind each.
#1: Desiring something greatly
The first step to doing anything is to want it. Before you take concrete steps or attempt to make a wish come true, you must desire it greatly. If you don’t want something, and you just wish for it out of necessity, then you may not even be able to embark on the journey of manifesting. By maintaining a positive mindset, expressing gratitude, and taking inspired action, you can manifest your goals and desires more effectively. The Law of Intention states that your intentions have the power to shape your reality. By setting clear and focused intentions, you align your thoughts and actions with what you want to manifest in your life. Intention acts as a guiding force that directs your energy towards your desired outcomes.
#2: Imagining and Detaching
The next law is about imagining and conceptualizing what exactly you desire. The Law of Detachment suggests that you should release your attachment to specific outcomes and trust in the universe's timing and wisdom. By letting go of the need to control every aspect of your life and surrendering to the flow of the universe, you allow space for miracles to unfold. Detachment involves having faith that everything is happening for your highest good, even if it doesn't unfold exactly as you imagined. Conjure an image of what you want, and imagine it vividly enough to bring it into reality. Create as detailed an image as possible, so there’s nothing you don’t account for.
#3: Affirming and Aligning
Affirmation has been used time and again by people throughout the world to get into a specific mindset. Make statements of affirmation for yourself: make yourself believe that what you want is already a reality. The Law of Alignment emphasizes the importance of aligning your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and actions with your true desires and highest self. When you are in alignment with your authentic self and your deepest desires, you create a powerful energetic resonance that attracts more of what you want into your life. This law highlights the importance of living in integrity with your values and taking inspired action towards your goals.
#4: Focusing
Maintain your confidence, and keep your complete focus on your desire. The idea is to be confident that your wish will materialize into your life sooner or later. Focus on what you want to bring into your life and how. Visualization is the process of mentally picturing yourself achieving your goals or experiencing your desired outcomes. According to the Law of Visualization, visualizing your goals with clarity and detail helps to program your subconscious mind and attract those experiences into your life. It involves creating vivid mental images and engaging all your senses to make your dreams feel more real and attainable.
#5: Believing
Belief is a crucial part of attracting something into your life. Keep believing that what you desire will appear in your life. Keep in mind that it won’t work if you don’t think it will happen. Believe sincerely that you will attract what you want. That belief makes up a huge part of your reality. This Law of Belief asserts that whatever you believe with conviction becomes your reality. If you believe in your ability to achieve your goals and manifest your desires, you are more likely to succeed. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and trusting in the process.
#6: Feeling Grateful
Gratitude is another essential part of the laws of attraction. Be grateful for what you might attract as you go about manifesting. Feeling appreciative of what you have and what the future holds for you will help you keep a positive outlook on everything, strengthening the idea of “like attracts like”. Gratitude is a powerful force that can amplify the Law of Attraction. This law emphasizes the importance of expressing gratitude for what you already have in your life, as gratitude attracts more blessings and abundance. By focusing on the positive aspects of your life and cultivating an attitude of gratitude, you raise your vibration and attract more positivity into your life.
#7: Manifestation
The last law and stage are when your desire becomes real. Each step relayed previously will help you reach this final result. You’ll have attracted what you wanted in the first place. The Law of Manifestation suggests that your thoughts and emotions have the power to manifest into physical reality. It emphasizes the importance of aligning your thoughts, feelings, and actions with your desired outcomes. By maintaining a positive mindset, expressing gratitude, and taking inspired action, you can manifest your goals and desires more effectively.
